Experience and Good Comments
One spring of a garage door broke in the morning. I contacted National Door on their website in the evening. Dan called me back the next morning and asked a few details. Then he said his service team is booked up but he could come in a hour himself, and he gave me a quote around $300 for both springs for one . His review was very good so I agreed.
He arrived after a little more than 1 hour and started working immediately. He told me I could feel free to watch. My garage doors didn't have handles inside, so he first installed them for me, also to make his work more convenient. Then he noticed that the original lift cables and safety cables were not standard gauge, nor were they installed properly. So he detached them, installed proper ones for me and installed two new springs. He also inspected my garage doors, tightened the screws on the doors and lubricated all the wheels.
The entire process took about 1 hour. Dan was polite, knowledgeable and skilled. I'm very satisfied by his work and would recommend him to anyone with similar needs.
PS. Dan has 1 year warranty on his labor, but he was confident they won't fail for many years.
The price was a bit high if it were only for replacing two springs. However, considering he also replaced and corrected all the safety cables, lift cables and some worn-out wheels, installed handles, tightened screws and lubricated wheels, without raising the price at all. I feel it's very good deal.
